Les tiroirs

Je suis allé à le Container Store. Quelle bonne surprise! J'ai conduit près le Strathmore Music Center! J'irai là avec une grande amie en octobre. Nous verrons Dead Can Dance. I went to the Container Store. What a nice surprise! I drove by the Strathmore Music Center! I will go there with a great friend in October. We will see Dead Can Dance. I also passed a Citroën on the way to the store! I've not seen a Citroën since I lived in Shenington, near Banbury, in Oxfordshire. I believe it was a C6. Whoever owns it must've brought it here from France. You can't buy Citroëns here in the U.S.

J'ai acheté les tiroirs. Voici une photo. I bought the drawers. Here is a photo.

I had to remove the books from my wire shelf, then remove the shelves. This was necessary to figure out how much the shelves had to be adjusted to accomodate the new drawer unit.

And then I put everything back together and back into place . . .

The clutter has not yet been put where I want to put it, but things are moving along, obviously.

Okay, this wasn't an entirely Google-free entry. I played with the verbs on this one. I'll admit, I wasn't sure which auxiliary verb, être or avoir, would give me "I went," for example. I thought it would be être, to be, plus some form of aller, to go, but I wanted to make sure. I was right. I've not yet gotten into the more complex tenses, so with this I needed help. Still, not all the French in this post was touched by Google.

Voici, "here is," I had some clue about, as I had come to learn recently that ici means "here." Je suis ici I am here. Tu es ici you are here. Elle est ici she is here. Nous sommes ici we are here. Vous êtes ici you (plural) are here. Ils sont ici they are here. This word isn't even part of mon vocabulaire français yet.

I think they look good in there, too. Thanks.

My French had better be getting better. I'm starting to dream in French again! This has happened again for the past two nights. O.O LOL

about this shadow

Born and raised an Air Force BRAT, the Garrulus has been to 18 countries and U.S. territories on three continents, as well as to 39 of the 50 states. He has lived in places as diverse as Okinawa, Japan; Biloxi, Mississippi; Bangkok, Thailand; and Bloxham, which is in Oxfordshire, in England, not too far from Banbury. (You've heard of Banbury Cross, right? You haven't? Well, where the hell were you in English class? Good God, if you were going to skip class, why the hell did it have to be English? You coudn't've skipped out on something useless? Like wood shop? Dumbass! Serves you right. You could've learned a thing or two about a certain naked woman on a horse, and you might also have learned something about chocolate. Heh. I'll bet that makes you regret skipping English class now, doesn't it?) Too, the Garrulus enjoys comparative religion and mythology, and he loves to innoculate his fantasy fiction with these interests, as well as with various aspects of the different cultures he has experienced around the world. As he has family in Australia, South Africa, England, and the U.S., you might say the sun never sets on his family. Then again, you might not. (He doesn't give a damn whether you say this or not, to be honest.) His friends are the most motley crew, seeing that they're from, amongst other places, New Zealand, Australia, England, Poland, Canada, and Wales. The love of his life is from Portugal. He also enjoys photography, the graphic arts, languages (including foreign curse words, of course), and travel, travel, travel.
